Roy Sandoval, Turnaround Consultant

Over twenty-eight years as an educator, Mr. Sandoval has served as a high school principal, elementary school principal, district curriculum director, high school biology teacher and coach. As well, he has presented at state and national levels. Most recently he retired from the Whiteriver Unified School District where he received national recognition as a turnaround principal for his success at Alchesay High School. Alchesay had been previously identified as one of the lowest performing, highest drug/alcohol violence schools in the country. His strengths are; extraordinary skills in connecting with students; creating and sustaining school improvement through the use of longitudinal data and empowering those under his auspices. Mr. Sandoval received his training through the University of Virginia, Darden/Curry National Turnaround Specialist Program (2 yr.).

Over his thirty plus years in education, Dr. Rickel has served as District Turnaround Director, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, Asst. Principal and high school mathematics teacher. In addition, Dr. Rickel has served on numerous county, state and national boards or advisory committees while mentoring aspiring educational leaders as an adjunct professor for the University of Arizona. Dr. Rickel has presented at all levels. Dr. Rickel's expertise lies in engineering a turnaround from a district, governing board and superintendent perspective, including creating, tracking and interpreting district benchmark data, tracking funding and educating board members. In addition, his passion and ability for mentoring principals and creating a culture of collaboration is extraordinary. Dr. Rickel received his training through the University of Virginia, Darden/Curry National Turnaround Specialist Program (2 yr.).
